Confirm that a Compatible Version of MacJournal is Running on the Mac

Ensure that Both the Desktop Machine and the iPhone are on the Same private WiFi Network
Another reason that MacJournal for iPhone might not "see" your Mac is that they are not connected. MacJournal for iPhone will not sync unless the desktop computer and the iPhone are on the same WiFi (AirPort) network.
Wifi can be configured in the following locations on your Mac and your iPhone:
- Mac: System Preferences... > Network
- iPhone: Settings App > Wi-Fi
It is also important to make certain that the WiFi network that your Mac and your device are is a network that does not restrict traffic. Certain public WiFi networks - like those in hotels or coffeeshops - may limit the traffic that can pass over their WiFi network. If you are on a public network, you may want to try creating a new WiFi network on your computer (select Create Network from the Airport icon in the menubar) and connect your iOS device to that network for the purposes of syncing.
