I've noticed that I'm missing the AppleScript drop-down menu, no longer showing on the menu bar. That's a feature I use so I do miss it.

That is easily fixable. Make sure that the Scripts folder is in the same directory as the application. Usually this is within the folder titled "Mariner Write". As soon as you restart the application with the Scripts folder in the same directory as the application, the scripts menu will appear.
