I'd like some additional security on my files. How can I password protect them?
While some of our apps (MacJournal and Paperless, for example) allow some degree of password protection/encryption of your data, not all Mariner apps allow you to password-protect files individually. There is, however, an easy workaround for adding password protection to your data files - and it's not limited to your Mariner Sofwtare files.
If your user account security is not sufficient for securing your data, you can try storing files you wish to keep secure on a password protected Disk Image. You can create one with Disk Utility, which is included with the Mac OS. Here are instructions for making one:
The instructions are a bit outdated, but apply to more recent versions of the Mac OS as well.
Please don't forget the password - if you forget it, your files may be non-recoverable, and Mariner will not be able to help you recover a password for a disk image created with Disk Utility!
