Do I need to uninstall my current copy of MacJournal before installing MacJournal 6?
Normally, when updating to a new version of any of our applications, we simply suggest that you drag and drop the new version of the application into your Applications folder and replace the existing version when prompted.
With MacJournal 6, we have been seeing an unusual rate of errors reported by the Finder (especially on Lion) when doing this. We don't believe these errors are anything to be concerned about - they appear to be benign, but they can prevent MacJournal 6 from being copied correctly into your Applications folder.
Because of thise, we recommend that prior to installing MacJournal 6, you move your existing copy of MacJournal to the Trash and empty the Trash before putting MacJournal 6 in your Applications folder.
The application itself contains no personal settings or journal data.
You do not need to go through any other process to remove your existing MacJournal files.
